Naval Special Warfare Foundation

Mission Statement

The Naval Special Warfare Foundation mission is to provide educational and motivational support, promote health and welfare programs for the Naval Special Warfare Community, and perpetuate the history and heritage of U.S. Naval Commandos.

Under our first pillar of education, the NSW Foundation annually awards over a $100,000 in scholarships to the children and wives of SEALs, SWCC, and others who serve in the NSW community.  Yearly, we provide in excess of $150,000  to the active duty enrolled in the Navy Tuition Assistance Program.  For the  surviving  children of NSW warriors who have lost their lives in combat or training, the Foundation contributes $50,000 annually to a fund that guarantees the children’s college educations will be paid in full.

Under our second pillar  of health and welfare,  the  NSW Foundation will help  NSW families with expenses related to the burial and memorial service s  of a service member s  killed in combat or training.  For our wounded teammates, we strive to reunite them with their families as soon as possible after the incident and meet their individual needs while they are convalescing.  To help the families of our deployed warriors, we assist active duty in hosting multiple children’s events as well as seminars for the spouses.

In support of our third pillar of history and heritage, the Foundation co-publishes The BLAST – Journal of Naval Special Warfare, and recognizes Frogmen from World War II to the present day SEAL with public displays and monuments.  We also assist in specific recognitions for our current heroes for actions during the “War Against Terrorism.”
